Instagram, owned by Meta, announced recently that it would soon support Ethereum, Solana, Polygon and Flow blockchain’s NFTs. Right after Twitter announced the support of NFTs or non-fungible tokens, Instagram will also support NFTs but in contrast to Twitter, they won’t charge the users to upload and share NFTs.
Instagram is also planning to enable cryptocurrency wallets like MetaMask. With this feature, users will be able to display the ownership and display them in their accounts. This move will also make tagging creators who developed NFTs by plugging in their wallets possible.
The primary aim of introducing NFTs on Instagram is to increase its cultural visibility. There are thousands of creators who promote and sell their work on Instagram.
